SUMMERFIELD - Carl Edward Hutcherson, Sr., 82, died Thursday, May 27, 1999, at his home, 7135 Rabbit Hollow Road.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 30, 1999, at Liberty Wesleyan Church on Hwy. 158 in Summerfield. Burial will be in the church cemetery.Mr. Hutcherson was a native of Rockingham County. He was born Nov. 22, 1916, to the late James Harry and Arnessa Jane Vernon Hutcherson. For many years, he ran several country stores named Carl & Daisy's Grocery in both Stoneville and in Summerfield. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Daisy Roach Hutcherson; a daughter, Arnessia H. Danaho; a grandson, Kim D. Danaho, his wife of 14 years, Sarah Carter Woods Hutcherson; two brothers, Theron W. Hutcherson and James Leonard Hutcherson; three sisters, Louise Simmons, Ruby Jones and Lois Pratt.
He is survived by a daughter, Cyntha H. Mabe and husband, Lucky; two sons, C. Edward Hutcherson, Jr. and wife, Diane, J. Garry Hutcherson and wife, Ann, all of Summerfield; three stepsons, Larry Woods and wife, Barbara, Jimmy Woods and wife, Millie of Eden, Tinker Woods and wife, Frankie of Stoneville; 16 grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Dean Hutcherson and wife, Betty; three sisters, Mary Elma Lilly Pratt and husband, Bud, Margaret Roberts and husband, John and Lera Chilton, all of Stoneville.
