Dennis Goff Menear, 80, of Tyrone Road and formerly of Reedsville, died Saturday evening in the Monongalia General Hospital following a lengthy illness.

He was born near Newburg Nov. 3, 1888, a son of the late 0. Judson and Nancy Menear Menear.

He was a member of the Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, and Preston Lodge No. 90, the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Kingwood. He also belonged to the United Mine Workers Union of Richard and the United Mine Workers of America.

Survivors include his widow. Luria Brand Menear: three sons: Charles E. Menear of Elyria, Ohio, Wayne E. Menear of Oakland. Md., and Dent D. Menear of Reedsville, four daughters, Mrs. Thelma Murray, Hazel Brown, Lois Overfield and Leora Brewer, all of Reedsville: two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Pyles of Arthurdale and Jessie Anderson of Morgantown: 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death was his first wife, Beulah Irene Born Menear. along with one sister and three brothers.

Dennis Goff Menear, 80, of Tyrone Road, died Saturday evening in the Monongalia General Hospital.

Friends may call at the Morgan Funeral Home in Reedsville after 6 p.m. Sunday and until noon Tuesday. Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Roger A. Harrison officiating. Interment will be in the Masontown cemetery.
