Yvonne Hill, age 68 of Oregon, Wisconsin, formerly of Viroqua, died Tuesday, March 15, 2005 of breast cancer.

She was born in Vernon County, on May 14, 1936 to Gale and Alta (Crook) Aikins. Yvonne attended Readstown High School and Vernon County Teachers College, graduating in 1956. She married Clair Hill on May 6, 1958, and they had three children, Anthony, Debra and Braden. Yvonne worked as a teacher's aide for the Kickapoo Area School District for several years, and later at the Douglas Mental Health Clinic as a bookkeeper. She also spent four years in Anchorage, Alaska, and after returning to Wisconsin, she worked at the Kickapoo Kwik Stop until her retirement. Four and a half years ago, Yvonne moved to Oregon, Wisconsin, to be closer to her daughter and granddaughter.

She's preceded in death by her husband Clair, her parents Gale and Alta Aikins, two brothers, Vernon and Alan, and a sister, Colleen.

Yvonne is survived by her three children: Anthony (Claudia) Hill of Bradenton, Florida, Debra Hill of Oregon, Wisconsin, Braden Hill of Temple, Texas, and five grandchildren, Jeremy, Scott, Braden, Alisha, and Erin, along with one great-grandson, Taylor.

A memorial service will be held at the Sime Funeral Home on Friday, March 18, 2005 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Howard Hintzman of People's United Methodist Church of Oregon, presiding. A luncheon at the Readstown Advancement Building will follow the memorial service. The burial will be held at a later date.
