Shawnee resident Jennifer "Jenni" Scruggs died Tuesday at a local nursing home. She was 48.
Mrs. Scruggs was born Oct, 29, 1949, in Houston, Texas, to Calvin Coolidge Wilson and Stella Marie Tigner Wilson. She married Billy Joe Scruggs on Jan. 23, 1968, in Okemah.
She was a barber instructor and worked for the Institute of Hair Design for five years and had owned her own shop. She attended the Messiah Ministries in Oklahoma City.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Joe Scruggs , Shawnee; son, Eric Scruggs , Shawnee; daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Robert Owen and Hollie and Jerry Wright, all of Shawnee; daughter, Cassie Taber, Michigan; brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Lisa Webb, McLoud; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother; her stepfather, Johnny Webb; and one son, Gregory Joe Scruggs .
