HAMMOND Herman Afdahl, 80, died Thursday at United Hospital, St. Paul, Minn. He was born in the town of Pleasant Valley, St. Croix County, and married Gladys Owens Nov. 18, 1926, in St. Croix County. After she died, he married Doris Grinnell July 30, 1966, in Baldwin. He farmed in Pleasant Valley his entire life. Survivors include his wife; two sons, David, Hammond, Herb, Menomonie; three daughters, Ardyce Peterson, West Bend, Lynn Vanda, Hammond, Donna Nelson, Pell City, two brothers, Delbert, Baldwin, Marcus, Hammond; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Peace Lutheran Woodside Church, Baldwin, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Dull Funeral Home, Baldwin.
