Iris Hesser, 104, died April 23, 2012. Her service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in First Christian Church. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Strode Funeral Home.

Iris Fontelle Williams Hesser, 104, passed from this life on April 23, 2012. Her funeral service will be at First Christian Church at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 28.

Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Iris was born in Hydro, Okla., the daughter of Charles C. and Mary Ann Williams. She graduated from Hydro High School and attended Southwestern State College in Weatherford, Okla., for two years.

She married Roy A. Hesser on Sept. 7, 1926 in Watonga, Okla.

Iris was in business most of her working years, being initially in business with her husband for nine years in Eagle City, Okla.

She and her husband moved to Stillwater in 1936 where they initially operated a business at 6th and Perkins Road and later moved to 6th and Burdick. During the 1940's she worked at the Anthony's store and later moved to Katz Department Store where she was the credit manager for fourteen years.

She was active in American Business Women's Organization and First Christian Church until recently.

She has been a member of the First Christian Church in Stillwater since 1943.

She was predeceased by her husband, Roy A. Hesser; a daughter, Billie Ann Brothers, of Englewood, Ohio; and a son, R. A. Hesser, of Stillwater. She is also predeceased by her brothers, Richard Williams, Earl Williams, and Eldon Williams; and a sister, Anna Beach.

She is survived by former daughter-in-law and husband; and former son-in-law and wife; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
