Funeral services for George Carl Goodnight, 82, 211 N. Dewey, Chandler, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec 30, 1986 in Curry-Parks Funeral Home in Chandler.
The Rev. Eric Wilburn officiated and burial was in Oak Park Cemetery at Chandler.
Mr. Goodnight died Sunday, December 28 in Edmond.
He was born Aug. 8, 1904 at Overbrook, Kan. the son of William R, and Anna Mae (Connor) Goodnight.
He married Myrtle Ivy Fowler May 6, 1925 Healing Springs Ark., and they were the parents of four children.
The Goodnights resided near Sparks for many years before moving to Chandler in later years.
During his active years, he was employed as a heavy equipment operator and a farmer. He attended the Assembly of God Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Art Goodnight; and one sister, Lorene Keener.
Surviving are his wife, Myrtle, of the home in Chandler; two sons, Bill Goodnight, Garden City, Kan., and Floyd Goodnight, Tecumseh; two daughters, Leota Brown, Sparks, and Georgie Cunningham, Chandler; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ed Goodnight, Howard, Kan., Claude Goodnight, Winfield, Kan., and Leo Goodnight, Winfield, Kan.; two sisters, Ethel Zirkel, Payson, Ariz., and Lola Graham, Winfield, Kan.
