from Herbie Giles
JASPER DWIGHT STEWART, farmer, and one of the old residents of Munford, was born in the State of Georgia, June 4, 1832. His father was Samuel Dwight Stewart, a native of South Carolina, where he married Nancy Gallahaw, and in 1840 migrated to Alabama, settling in Randolph county. There he became the owner of a large plantation, upon which he continued to reside until his death, which occurred in 1853. His wife died in 1842, two years after coming to Alabama. He and his wife were both members of the Methodist Episcopal church. They were the parents of nine children, five sons and four daughters, of whom the subject of this sketch is now the only one living. Jasper Dwight Stewart
