MATTOON - Renee Ann (Richards) Eller of Mattoon, Illinois was born in Springfield, Illinois on February 06, 1951. After a 5 year battle with breast cancer, she passed away at 3:20 p.m. on Tuesday April 24, 2012. She is survived by her long time companion, Wayne A. Henk, her two sons Ronald Gene Castleman, Jr. (Kim) of Denver, Colorado; James Allan Heitzman II (Jamie) of Aurora, Illinois; three grandchildren, Cassandra Renee Castleman, Cheyenne Lynn Castleman and Brady Steven Heitzman; and her life long friend, Carole L. Buggar. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Rosemarie Ketchum in 1981; Grandfather, Joseph Duffy in 1991; Grandmother, Mary Ann Duffy in 1996; Godfather, James Joyce in 2000; and Godmother, Barbara Joyce in 2003. Renee graduated from Springfield High School in 1969. She retired from AT&T in 1999 after 30 years of service. She graduated Suma Cum Laude from Danville Area Community College with a Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Degree in 2006. She worked for the City of Danville in the Police Records Department and Human Resources/Human Relations from 2006 through 2009. She was currently employed at Lake Land College Police Department in Mattoon. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers; Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society; Who's Who in America; and The National Dean's List. Private services will be held following cremation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Danville Bell Credit Union, 307 North Walnut Street, Danville, Illinois 61832 for her grandchildren's future education.
