Just wanted to let You know that I am related to Thomas (Thomas was married later to Alice (Aly Ann) Carpenter, they both died in Charleston, S.C. in 1890)) and, to let You know Charles McSwain was married twice, his second wife my g.g.g. was Sarah L. Throckmorton, they had not been married long when Charles died.Sarah later married William Riley UpChurch in the 1850's.

Charles McSwain was my g.g.g.grandfather he had a second wife who was the mother of my g.g. Thomas Asbury McSwain who married Alice (Aly Ann) Carpenter.
Charles may have not even lived long enough to see his approx. 17 child being born.
