Mrs. Betty J. Starks Willis, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 4, 2011, in Nacogdoches, Texas. She was born on June 20, 1925, in Kirksville, Missouri to the late Hershel Gail and Donna Mabel Vittitoe Starks.

Betty was born and raised and graduated from high school in Kirksville. She loved to sing and dance. She lived her life helping those in need, no matter what the need was she made sure she was there to lend a helping hand when she could. She had worked as a Supervisor over the ward clerk at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital formerly named City Memorial Hospital.

Betty was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of First Christian Church of Nacogdoches.

She is survived by a daughter, three sons, six grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Hershel and Donna Starks she was preceded in death by her former husband, Griffin Willis, brother, Hershel Starks, two sisters, Marion Campbell and Mona Claire Ward.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday, June 6, 2011 at 10:00 Am at Bethel Cemetery in Appleby with Rev. Sonny Scarborough officiating.

Visitaiton will be held on Sunday, June 5, 2011 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Laird Funeral Home.
