Debra was the daughter of Levi and Hazel (Moore) Martens. During her childhood, the family moved to Rapid City from Alaska. In 1966, she graduated from Rapid City Central High School.

She married Joseph Carlin on 28 December 1968 in Rapid City. They became the parents of four children, whom she cherished.

Debra married Larry Anderson on 3 October 1983 in Hill City. They worked side by side starting a business and making it successful.

She was a woman of simple tastes who enjoyed such things as a cup of coffee in the early morning, the sound of the birds singing and the feel of sunshine on her face. She was an active member of her church.

Debra's greatest pride was her family.

Survivors include her husband, her mother, one brother, two sons, two daughters, eight grandchildren, and her special kitty companion, Tippy.

She was preceded in death by her father, Levi K. Martens and a grandson, Alex J. Carlin.

The funeral was held on 10 April 2002 at the Church of St. Theresa, the Little Flower with Rev. Brian Lane officiating.

Interment was in the Pine Lawn Cemetery.
