Died at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday in Independence at the age of 76. Was a native of Holden and resided at 3107 Lobelia St., in Baton Rouge. The body will remain at the Hollabaugh-Seale and Spindle Funeral Home until 2 p.m. Thursday with religious services to follow at 3 p.m. Thursday at the New Beulah Baptist Church at Baptist. Burial will be in the Baptist Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Howard Sibley, Pleasant Sibley Jr., Horce Greer Jr., W. R. Mendow, Allen Owens and M. L. Stewart.
Survivors are three sons, Lee Owens, Preston Owens and Marvin Owens, all of Baton Rouge; four daughters, Mrs. P. W. Sibley, Walker, Mrs. Horace Greer, Mrs. R. E. Sceroler and Mrs. Warren Zuelke, all of Baton Rouge; one sister, Mrs. Eugene Rogers, Hammond; 24 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
