Grenda M. Kaufmann, 75, Asotin

Grenda M. Newell Kaufmann passed away Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, at Tri-State Memorial Hospital in Clarkston after a battle with cancer.

She was born March 13, 1931, at Asotin to Homer D. Newell and Beulah Watkins Newell. Grenda attended school at Asotin, graduating from Asotin High School in 1949.


Grenda lived her entire life in the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley. She worked as a bookkeeper and office manager for several local businesses. She retired from Pioneer Sign Company in 1996.

Grenda is survived by two sisters, Bonnie Canning of Lewiston and Pat Busch and husband Bill of Clarkston; eight nieces and nephews; and a number of great- and great-great- nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Harriet Hayes.

Services will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday at Merchants Funeral Home in Clarkston.
