Sara Margaret (Nelson) Blodgett, 89, of Mound City, MO, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at a Liberty, MO, care center. She was born July 24, 1921, in Bethany, MO, and graduated from Bethany High School. Sara married John Blodgett, and they became parents of two children. John preceded her in death in 1969. Sara was also preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Rilla (Campbell) Nelson; and a sister, Evelyn Campbell.
Survivors include Sara's daughter, Nancy Gail Nichols, Kansas City, MO; son, Carl LeRoy Blodgett, North Carolina; eight grandchildren, Toni, Teri, Skippi, Tyler, Bobby, Candy, Johnny, and Kim; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-greatgrandchildren; and sister, Carol Watson, Savannah, MO.
Sara was a member of the Mound City Presbyterian Church.
Memorial services were held Thursday, May 12, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at the Chamberlain Funeral Home in Mound City. Inurnment
was held at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Mound City.
