Jerome Joseph ( Jerry ) Leitner, age 80, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, April 27, 2012 at Century Ridge Assisted Living, Chilton, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 14, 1931 in Charlestown, WI, son of the late Joseph F. and Barbara (Bruckner) Leitner. Jerry attended school in Charlestown, WI, and served his country during the Korean War. On November 24, 1956 he married Miranda Wagner in New Holstein, WI. She preceded him in death on November 11, 1996. Jerry retired from Mirro Aluminum company in 1997. Prior to that he farmed for many years throughout the area. Jerry's two loves were his family and sheepshead. Jerry is lovingly remembered by seven daughters and six sons-in-law: Linda and Gary French, Mishicot, Judy and Jeff Stuebs, Peoria, AZ, Jean and Pat Shimon, Manitowoc, Jane Leitner, Manitowoc, Patti and Marty Pasterski, Manitowoc, Cheryl and Martin Robles, Bensenville IL, Michele and Guy Arnold, Chilton, seven sons and four daughters-in-law: Steven and Mary Leitner, Reedsville, Bob Leitner, Valders, Randy and Stacy Leitner, Albany, Ron and Dana Leitner, Appleton, Rick and Kim Leitner, Manitowoc, Dale Leitner, Valders, Alan Leitner, Sherwood; 33 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one sister: Eleanor Jacobs, Chilton, one brother and sister-in-law: Joseph and Carol Leitner, Bluffton, IN, four brothers-in-law: Merlin Lemke, Chilton, Gilbert Meier, New Holstein, Joseph Wagner, Kiel, Donald and Katie Wagner, New Holstein; two sisters-in-law: Shirley Leitner, New Holstein, and Mary and Clarence Biese, Chilton. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter: Kathleen; four sisters and two brothers-in-law: Hildegarde and Lester Thelen, Isabel and Wilmer Lemke, Marian Meier, Bertilla Lemke; two brothers and one sister-in-law: Arthur and Velma Leitner and Ralph Leitner; three brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law: Sylvester Wagner, Elise Schmitt, Delores Wagner, Francis and Agnes Wagner and Hubert Jacobs; two nephews and one niece: Richard Jacobs, Christine Thelen and Charles Wagner. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday May 2, 2012 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. David Zimmerman with entombment at Knollwood Mausoleum.
