The funeral of the late Cr. M. Baulch, who died at Forth on Friday, took place yesterday afternoon at the Forth Methodist Cemetery. The attendance was a striking and eloquent tribute to the esteem in which deceased was held. On leaving "Medlands," Wilmot road, the cortege was a lengthy one, but as it proceeded on its way the proportions increased, until a length of three quarters of a mile was reached. The long and faithful service Mr. Baulch had rendered, first as a member of the Forth Road Trust and later as a representative of the Abbotsham ward of the Leven Municipality, received fitting expression and appreciation from those he had served. The mourners were the five sons, Messrs. Henry, Charles, John, Joseph and George Baulch and Mrs. P. Mulligan and Miss Baulch, daughters. The Warden of Leven (Cr. C. A. Dunning) and Crs. F. A. Tongs, J. F. Wright and W. J. Carter, carried the coffin to its last resting place and Crs. E. Hobbs, M.H.A. , A McPherson, A. D. W. Tongs and J Johnstone were the pall bearers. Cr. T. W. Wright and A. S. Lakin were also present. Approaching Forth a number of members of the Forth branch of the I.O.O.F., of which the deceased was a member, joined the cortege. The burial service was read by the Rev. B. T. Barker, who delivered an eloquent address, in which he bore testimony to the deceased as a husband and a father and to his untiring work in the interests of the people. Mr. J. W. Gardiner read the Oddfellows' oration. Amongst the visitors were ;- Hons. Herbert Hays (Hon. Minister), and H. A. Nichols, M.L.C., Messrs. J. Watt (Master Warden Mersey Marine Board), J. Littlejohn (secretary Mersey Marine Board), Cr. H. A. Vertigan (Devonport Council), Messrs. John Luck, T. Collett and A. R. Quinn (council clerk of Leven).
