Abere, Joseph F. - Of Eau Claire, WI Formerly Of White Bear Lake, MN Age 83, died Monday, September 22, 2003. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 30, 1920, the son of Louis and Amelia (Bacigalupo) Abere. Joseph married Grace Lawlor on December 26, 1943 in Queens Village, New York City, NY. Joseph earned a bachelor's degree at Queen's College, New York and his master's degree and Ph.D. in chemistry at the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn. He came to 3M in 1948 as a research scientist in Central Research. Joe retired in the summer of 1984 as a Corporate Scientist and member of the Carlton Society. He continued to work as a consultant for 3M until the fall of 2002. He is survived by his beloved wife Grace, of 60 years; two sons, Dr. Dennis (Anne) of Milwaukee, WI, and Douglas (Ann) of Lakeville, MN; five daughters, Linda Abere of Nassau, Bahamas, Cynthia (Dr. Michael) Cragg of Rice Lake, WI, Christine (Anthony) Arnerich of Portland, Oregon, Kathleen (Dr.William) Morin of Eau Claire, WI and Mary Jeanne (John) Hecht of Rockford, IL;. grandchildren; Amy Cragg, Scott Cragg, Michael Abere, Nicholas Arnerich, Luka Arnerich, Kata Arnerich, Jaclyn Morin, Kelly Morin, Benjamin Hecht, Julie Hecht, Alison Abere and Jennifer Abere. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Eugene, George and Al.
