GREENSBORO — Mr. Herbert G. Norris, 83, died Sunday, March 6, 2011, at Moses Cone Hospital.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Apple's Chapel Christian Church with the Reverend Allen Myers officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Norris was born March 27, 1927, to the late Charles S. and Minnie Holleman Norris. He was married to the late Frances Kernodle Norris and retired from AMP after 35 years of service. He had a special talent and love of carving and woodworking. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brothers, Hulan S. Norris and Jesse H. Norris.
Mr. Norris is survived by his daughters, Donna Norris Chappell and husband Robert, of Gibsonville, Sandra Norris, of Greensboro; brother, Charles A. Norris and wife Alyse, of Spring Lake; special friends Jimmy Kapp, Lela Johnson, and Priscilla Allen and his very special dog "Sassy".
