" Mrs. Harriett E. Anderson, widow of Isaac Davis Anderson, died at her home, in Church Hill, Queen Anne's county, on Friday night, September 3rd, of a complication of diseases. Mrs. Anderson was a native of Queen Anne's county, a member of the old and well-known family of Cloughs, but had spent the greater part of her life in Caroline county. She was a woman of bright and attractive personality and had a host of friends in Denton and vicinity. She is survived by three children: Mrs. J. Kemp Stevens, of Denton, Mrs. Henrietta Liles, of Blacksburg, Va., and Mr. S. Russell Anderson, of Wilmington, Del. There are also three step-children: Mr. George H. Anderson, of Wilmington, Del., Mr. Lee Anderson, of Garfield, N.J., and Mrs. H. Clinton Wright, of Denton. There are also several brothers and one sister surviving. The funeral services were held in the Denton Methodist Protestant Church, of which she was a member for many years, on Monday afternoon. Revs. G. J. Hooker, the pastor of the church, and Thomas O. Crouse, a former pastor, officiated. Mr. Robert Fleetwood sang "The Home of the Soul", with Mrs. Lednum at the piano. The pall-bearers were: Messrs. G.H. Wilson, J.T. Carter, F.R. Owens, T.P. Fisher, W. I. Norris, and Frank L.R. Nuttle. The floral tributes from relatives and friends were abundant and exceptionally beautiful. Interment was made in Denton cemetery."
