Adelbert G. Bates, 77, died Saturday at his home, 26 Winchester St. He was born in Conway and for the past 24 years had been custodian of the Hope Congregational church. He was a member of Hope Church and the Men's Brotherhood. Besides his wife, Mrs. Louise (Cheney) Bates, he leaves a son, Walter, of Springfield and two brothers Henry of North Adams and Walter of Greenfield. The funeral will be held in Hope Church Monday at one with Rev. John Homer Miller officiating. Burial will be in Conway. Friends may call at Byron's funeral home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
