Eliza Jane was daughter of Jacob SHELLY & Eve GRUBER; born in RedBank Township, Clarion Co., PA. She was the youngest of 8 children, and 2 years old when her mother died. Eliza was then raised by her Uncle John GRUBER and Aunt Euphema (Campbell) GRUBER. Eliza married John SHERMAN in 1865 and had 11 children and raised 9 children to adulthood in PA. In 1918 most of the families moved to Los Angeles, CA to work in the Oil Fields. They had been working in the oil fields in western PA.
