John C Ince and SC Eslick were married on 6 November 1885 in Johnson County, Texas (sometimes her name has been spelled Selah).

Mr. Chesser, wrote to a family member and said, "John C. was buried between his wife and his son in an unmarked grave." He also said that the dust on the road the day of the funeral was so thick that one could hardly see.
