My grandpa Jerry was the best man anyone could've ever met.
Jerry Pope went to church with us, and even though we weren't related, he was just like family. After church, he would take us out for lunch, and go shopping to buy us gifts. My older sister got her first Barbie from him, and i got a Fur-real friend. My little sister was so young then, she didn't really get much.
Grandpa Jerry would always come for surprise visits to take us places like the Carnival, the Zoo, and the Fair. He would buy our tickets, and take us on any ride we wanted to go on. My dad would joke around with my mom, saying that he was her 'boyfriend'. LOL!
The last time i talked to Grandpa Jerry was a few days before his death. Only 30% of his heart was working, and he was dying. Yet he took the time to talk to each of my sisters, reminding us of all those sweet memories we had together.
Grandpa Jerry, I love you, and I will never forget you. You are now free from all your pain and suffering.
