MANCHESTER - Francis H. Paris, 93, died April 1, 2012, in Watson Fields, Dover.

Born in Manchester on Dec. 21, 1918, he was the son of Francis X. and Rose (Doucet) Paris. He married Beatrice (Descoteaux) Paris in Manchester on Sept. 20, 1941.

He graduated from Central High School, where he was a member of the track and gym teams and Manchester hockey team.

After graduation, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Attaining the rank of sergeant, he managed a machine shop for aircraft.

He started a plumbing and heating business and worked for many years as a production manager in plastics for Hermsdorf Manufacturing Co., Manchester.

He was a founding member of Massabesic Yacht Club of Manchester. He was an avid snow skier, water skier, sailor, golfer, hunter and wood carver. He enjoyed many years of square dancing and ballroom dancing with his beloved wife, Bea.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Gilbert Seed and Georgette O'Dowd.

Family members include a son, Francis R. Paris and his wife, E.J., of Sun City Center, Fla.; a daughter, Gale Day and her husband, Russell of Rye; a brother, Roger Paris of Tilton; three grandchildren, Scott Paris, Aimee Paris of Florida and Kara Day of Rye and a great-grandchild, Tyler Newkirk.
