Cynthia Pearl Duke was born February 25, 1883 in Tennessee, daughter of Samuel James Duke (1837-1902) and Elois Eugene (maiden name unknown) (1852-1889).

The 1900 Federal Census for Civil District 11, Tennessee (Smith County) shows Cynthia P. Duke, age 17, born February 1883 in Tennessee; living with her father, Samuel J. Duke, a widower and a farmer, age 63, born May 1837 in Tennessee. Also living in the household were Cynthia's siblings: Elijah W. Duke, age 19, born in February 1881; Benton M. Duke, age 15, born in September 1884; Sallie L. Duke, age 13, born in July 1886; and Eugenia Duke, age 10, born in July 1889; all born in Tennessee.

Cynthia married Ewell Beal Glover, who was born July 15, 1878 in Tennessee, son of Hampton Marlow Glover (1843-1905) and Nancy Ann Apple (1844- ).

Ewell and Pearl had three known children: Leland Doyle Glover (1905-1971); Sall Glover (1906- ); and Anna Corneil Glover (1908-1986).

The 1910 Federal Census for Civil District 8, Tennessee (Smith County) shows Ewell B. Glover, a farmer, age 31, born in Tennessee; and his wife, Cynthia P., age 28, born in Tennessee. The census shows that Ewell and Pearl had been married 8 years and had given birth to three children, of which two were still living. Living with them were two children: Doyle Glover, age 14; and Annie C. Glover, age 12; both born in Tennessee.

The 1920 Federal Census for Civil District 8, Tennessee (Smith County) shows Ewell B. Glover, a farmer, age 41, born in Tennessee; and his wife, Cynthia P., age 36, born in Tennessee. Living with them were two children: Leland D. Glover, age 4; and Corneil Glover, age 2; both born in Tennessee.

Ewell died June 6, 1928 in Smith County, Tennessee and was buried in Chestnut Mound in the Chestnut Mound United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pearl died February 7, 1959 in Smith County, Tennessee and was buried beside her husband.
