Corley Dean Hansen, the son of Dalton D. and Shirley Blohm Hansen, was born August 18, 1964, at the Audubon County Memorial Hospital in Audubon, Iowa and died near Verdi, Nevada on July 6, 2008 at the age of 43 years, 10 months, 18 days.

Corley was baptized at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Audubon and confirmed at Hamlin Lutheran Church in Hamlin, Iowa. He attended school in Audubon and graduated with the High School Class of 1982. While in school Corley was active in all sports. His favorite sport was baseball. He played Pee Wee and Cubs while in elementary and middle school and was the catcher for the Audubon Wheelers baseball team. Following high school he worked for Napa Auto Parts until May 22, 1983.

He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. Following his basic training, Corley was stationed first in Texas and later California. He was in supply and helped load Cargo planes. While serving in Texas he was a member of the Color Guard. He was transferred to California where he decided to live after he was honorably discharged on May 6, 1987.

Corley was employed at various jobs for a short time. He then attended a trade school where he learned installation and repairing of floor coverings. Corley worked in contract flooring until 2001 when his health issues interfered. The past five years Corley made his home in Reno, Nevada.

Corley was never married, but shared 9 years of his life with a special friend in Modesto, CA to which a son, Brent, was born in 1991.

Corley was an outdoor person who loved to fish, hunt, camp, trap and build and fly model airplanes. He was an avid San Diego Charger football fan and enjoyed watching their games.

Preceding him in death were his father: Dalton D. Hansen and his grandparents: Cliff and Emma Hansen and Henry and Mary Blohm.

Survivors include his son Brent Hansen of Modesto, CA; his mother Shirley Hansen of Audubon, IA; his sisters: Lorrie Davis and her special friend Tom McCollum of Winnebago, MN; Connie and husband Ken McPherson of Audubon; and Pattie and husband Scott Frohlich of Harlan, IA; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.
