William Edgar Young was born June 22, 1889, departed this life January 29, 1933, age 43 years 7 months, and 7 days. He was united in marriage to Vergie McDonald, daughter of Reverend and Mrs. J. P. McDonald on November 28, 1915, and to this union was born one son, Edgar Bryant Young.
He became a Christian on August 20, 1927. He had not joined any visible church, but he lived a true and devoted Christian the remainder of his life. He had repeatedly said to his wife that he was ready to go any time. "Will" as he was called, was a true Christian gentleman. He was truthful, honest, upright, and straightforward in all his dealings with his fellow man, and his friends were numbered by his acquaintances. He was very devoted to his companion and only son, Edgar Bryant. He will be sadly missed by all his loved ones.
Funeral services were conducted in the M E Church South at Chestnut Mound by Reverend Dow Ensor on January 31 at 2 p.m. with burial in the Chestnut Mound cemetery.
