The funeral for Winifred M. Siegele , 93, of Aberdeen, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church, 1732 S. Main St. The Rev. Dorene King will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park with Miller-Huebl Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St., in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, and for one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
She died Sunday, April 13, 1997, at the Aberdeen Living Center. Winifred Margaret Baldwin was born April 17, 1903, to Clayton J. and Minnie (Barth) Baldwin at their home on First Street, which is now the Dacotah Bank parking lot. She attended school in Aberdeen, and graduated from the Aberdeen Business College. On Sept. 21, 1935, she married Erwin C. Siegele in Aberdeen. She worked at the Aberdeen Credit Bureau and worked for the secretary for the Elks Lodge No. 1046 in Aberdeen. She then worked in the recorder's office of the Yelduz Shrine in Aberdeen until she retired in 1977. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Aberdeen, Evangelical Lutheran Church Women (E.L.C.W.), Fellowship Circle, and the Minerva Chapter No. 5, Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband who died April 25, 1979.
Casketbearers will be Orville W. Robbins of Selby, Leonard Wanttie, Gordon Wanttie, Earl Shanley, John "Jack" Nelson and Dale Dayton, all of Aberdeen.
