O. B. Gunter, 78, died April 13, 1996 in a local nursing home.
He served in the U. S. Army in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He was a member of the
Electricians Union Local #278, a member of the V.F.W. Post 2397, a member of the local
Eagle Lodge #2249, and member of Covenant Baptist Church in Corpus Christi. He was
also a member of the Del Mar Masonic Lodge #2249 AF & AM.
He leaves surviving two daughters, Debbie (Ronald) Yocum Howe of Seguin, Texas
and Pat (Paul) Gunter Parr of Corpus Christi; three sons, Donnie (Carol) Yocum,
Archie Gunter, and Michael & (Rose) Yocum, all of Corpus Christi; three sisters,
Helen Elmore, Ethel Martin, and Lollie Ford, all of Fort Worth; 12 grandchildren; and
two great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be conducted 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 1996 at Seaside Funeral
Home Chapel with Dr. Billy Storms officiating. Interment services will follow in
Seeaside Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Grady Murphy, Trevor Parr, Randall Parr, Donald Yocum, Sean
Yocum, Aubrey Rangeley, and Mark Rittgers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rena Rittgers, Tracee Murphy, Jennifer Howe, Melissa
Yocum, Diamond Yocum, Nancy Yocum, and Misty Rittgers.
In lieu of flowers, family members request that donations be made to the charity of choice.
