Daughter of William Henry Moyers(1868-1936) & Rosa Arbella Couch(1869-1931). Wife of Wilbert Joshua Ottwell(1902-1965). Mother of Luella A. Moyers and Billie Joshua Moyers.

OBITUARY:
Lesta M. Ottwell, 92, of Pleasant Hill, died at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, 1999, at Illini Hospital in Pittsfield. Born Dec. 11, 1906 near Nebo, she was a daughter of William Henry and Rosa Arbelle (Couch) Moyers. She married Wilbert Joshua Ottwell Aug. 7, 1925, in Hannibal, Mo. He died on April 12, 1965. Mrs. Ottwell worked for Miller's Restaurant as a cook and later for the Pleasant Hill High School. She helped care for the elderly in their homes. She retired in 1985. She had been a member of the Pleasant Hill Church of Christ since 1939. She was a Charter Member and past president of the Pleasant Hill Senior Citizens Center, a past member of the local Rebekah Lodge, a member of the Modern Woodman Lodge and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She loved to sew, make quilts, and liked watching rodeos and the St. Louis Cardinals ball team. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Luella M.) Johnston of Pleasant Hill; a sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Marie) Hobbs of Pleasant Hill; four grandchildren; Billie K. Johnston of Sullivan; Donald K. Johnston of Pleasant Hill; Lewis Wilbert Johnston of Galesburg; and Angela C. Chaplin of Quincy; 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Billie Joshua Ottwell; a nephew, William H. Moyers, Jr., who was raised in her home; five brothers and sisters in infancy; Clarence and Bryan Moyers; and a sister, Verna Borrowman.
Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Ward-Lummis Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill by Bro. Wilson Ramsey. Burial was in Nebo Cemetery. Pallbearers were Billie Johnson; Donald Johnston; Wilbert Johnston; Billy Joe Chaplin, Jr.; Justin Johnston; and Jeremy Johnston. Memorials may be made to the Pleasant Hill Fire Department.
