Norman E. Marshall MUSCATINE, Iowa - Norman E. Marshall, 89, of Muscatine, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at Lutheran Homes. Graveside Service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2011, at Memorial Park Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Roy Kuntz, Jeff Jarrett, Melvin Knight and Doc Grosjean. Military rites will be held at the cemetery by the combined units of the V.F. W Post 1565. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in his name. The Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services is handling the arrangements.

Norman Eugene Marshall was born on June 18, 1921, in Mystic, the son of Ray and Kitty Rupe Marshall. He was a graduate of Mystic High School. On June 18, 1942, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Fern Jarrett in Kahoka, Missouri.

Norman served as a Machinist Mate 1st Class in the United States Navy during World War II from 1943-1945, during which he received two bronze stars. He had worked at the Rock Island Arsenal, JI Case, Carver Pump. He was a model maker at HON Industries from September 18, 1949 to June 19, 1986. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking and working on cars. He was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Green Bay Packers.

Norman will be deeply missed by his wife, Dorothy Marshall of Muscatine; one daughter, Barbara Kuntz and husband, Roy, of Firestone, Colorado; two sisters, Charlotte Winslow of LeClaire, and Juanita Bonzi of Clearwater, Florida; his nephew, Jeff Jarrett, who was like a son to him; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings; Mary Etta, Frank, Robert, Alberta, Donald, Ted and Marion.
