Born September 10, 1886 in Boyd County, Kentucky he was orphaned when about 8 years old. George always carried the memory of his Mother deep in his heart and everytime he spoke of her a tear would come to his eye. He had a hard life when young and once when asked if he would like to go back and live it over he emphatically said. "No!"

Life got better for George when he met and married his beloved Marie. They were married in 1934. From this union were born Mary Ann, Louada Marie, Nancy Jane, Linda Carol and George Charles Simpson. A wonderful family of whom he was very proud.

He was a coal miner, a carpenter and a builder. He served his country in the U.S. Army before World War l. He was very patriotic and was so proud when his son joined the Marines.

George was a Mason and a member of the Baptist Church. Although age took a toll on his body, his mind remained crisp and clear to the end. He could amazingly recall names and events from years ago as if they had just happened yesterday.

An amazing individual, loved and missed by his family and friends.
