James Everly Love, age 84 of Brazil, died 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at his residence.
He was born September 5, 1923 in Brazil, Indiana as the son of William and Mary Wallace Love. Following graduation from Van Buren High School he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Martha Montgomery June 16, 1950. James was a heavy equipment operator and owned his own business, Love Brothers Land Clearing and Earth Moving for 60 years until his retirement in the spring of 2007. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a member of the Knightsville Masonic Lodge No. 409, F. & A. M.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers, Donald, David, Thomas, William and Warren Love.
He is survived by his wife Martha; one daughter, Janet Trout and husband Sam; two sisters, Mildred Chaney and Margaret Simonson; one brother, Melvin Love; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Montgomery of Indianapolis and Ann Lyons of Shelbyville, Indiana and a large extended family.
Private family funeral services will be Saturday, October 6th at Moore Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Scroggins and Rev. Norman Chaney officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery west of Brazil. Should friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Clay County Humane Society, 8280 N. CR 125W, Brazil IN 47834.
