Services were held Saturday, June 5, for Mrs. Allie Bray, 90, of Savannah, Tn. Mrs. Bray was a former resident of Steele and the Steele area. She was the widow of C.D. Bray. Born Allie Baxter on July 20, 1885, in Hardin County, Tn., she had lived here much of her life. Her first husband was Jim Southern.
Mrs. Bray died June 3 at Hardin County Nursing Home in Savannah.
Services were at 2 p.m at Steele Church of Christ with Mr. Ed Brand officiating. Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Steele, with Shackleford Funeral Home of Savannah in charge.
A member of the Church of Christ, Mrs. Bray was also a member of Royal Neighbors Lodge.
She leaves a son, Baxter Southern of Memphis and Caruthersville; a foster son, Roy Southern of Jonesboro. She also leaves three sisters: Zubie (Mrs. Walter) Thompson of Steele; Lizzie Cagle and Rilla Callens, both of Savannah.
She leaves three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two foster grandchildren.
