KREBS, MARY CAROLYN FARRELL GREEN

KREBS, MARY CAROLYN FARRELL GREEN, died Tuesday, March 16, 2004. Mrs. Krebs, a life long resident of Birmingham, was born August 18, 1913.

A well-loved musician and piano teacher for over 50 years, Mrs. Krebs was a graduate of Birmingham Conservatory of Music where she studied under Dorsey Whittington. For a number of years, she also acted as a representative of the Summy Birchard Music Company. Mrs. Krebs was a member and president of the Bush Hills Music Club. She was a member of the Birmingham Music Teachers Association and the Alabama Federation of Music. She served as a role model for many as master teacher of piano teachers. For over a decade, she also accepted the responsibility of coordinating weekly piano student recitals at Birmingham Southern College's School of Music.

Mrs. Krebs was preceded in death by her parents John and Stella Farrell, her brother Richard Farrell, husband Charles L. "Chillie" Green. and grandson Ben Bowden. She is survived by husband Paul B. Krebs, Sr.; children Patricia Adams (Mrs. Tom); Charles L. Green, Jr.; Judy Bowden (Mrs. Steve); grandchildren Tom Adams, Kelly Bowden and Tracy Green.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, March 19th from 12:30 to 1:30 at Ridout's Valley Chapel, Homewood, before the 2 p.m. graveside service at Elmwood Cemetery. Flowers are appreciated, but those so desiring may make memorial donations to Barnabas Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 190306, B'ham 35219, Attn Bob Gladney, or the charity of your choice.
