Gilbert H, Abel Sr, Philadelphia fireman, died Tuesday at Veteran's Administration Hospital in Cleveland from a heart condition. Born In Sherrodsville, he was a son of the late John and Christina Moran Abel. He was a member of the Elks, Moose and Eagles Lodges and VFW in New Philadelphia and attended Sacred Heart Church. He Is a veteran of World War II. His wife, Dorothy June Pizzini Abel, died In 1952. He is survived by a daughter of the home; a son, of New Philadelphia; 2 sisters, and a brother. Two brothers and 2 sisters preceded him In death. Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. In Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Fr. L. Robert Shalosky officiating. Burial will be In Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The Eagles Lodge will conduct services Friday at 7 and rosary will be said at 8:15.
