William A. Bagley, age 85 of Vernal, passed away peacefully at the Uintah Care Center on April 29, 2012.
Bill was born in Corona, California on May 13, 1926 to Robert Henry and Bessie Edith Shoole Bagley.
He and his parents moved to Vernal in the late 1930s. As a young boy Bill helped his parents run the Pony Express Company in Vernal. He was responsible for taking care of the horses and helped with the people traveling through. He enlisted in the US Army and served from 1944-1946 during World War II, receiving many medals for his service in the military.
After the service, Bill was a professional farmer until he retired, working for Jude Hacking for many of those years.
Bill attended the World Vision Assembly of God Church and had a special relationship with his Lord. He was a man of integrity and principle and won the respect of all those who knew him. He trusted the Lord with everything he knew and lived his life to honor Him.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 7, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Rockpoint Cemetery in Vernal. Friends may call Sunday from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Blackburn Mortuary. Military honors will be by the American Legion Post 124 and 11 and the Utah Army National Guard.
Services were entrusted to the care of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
