Mercy was the first wife of John Belden Buttery, they arrived in Homer, Cortland County sometime during 1806. She was the mother of three children, John Milton Buttery, born 1809 in Homer, settled in Niagara County & married the former Priscilla Nichols, they had 10 children (this info was recorded in a historical book titled: "Niagara County New York"; Sarah M. Buttery born 1811, married Haskill Gillette, they had 6 known children, she stayed in Cortland Co. and Martha Elizabeth Buttery born 1813, married Abel Stebbins, they settled in Lewiston, Niagara County with 2 children, Sarah M. Stebbins who married Hiram T. Walker, had 6 known children & John Milton Stebbins who married Manderina Colbath & had 2 known children Jennie & George.
