Ramona Powell, 67, died at 7:08 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2011, in a local hospital.

Ramona was a native of Port Sulphur, La. and lived in Edgerly for 11 years. She was an auxillary member of the Legion of Mary. She loved to fish at her camp in Toledo Bend. She raised 2 of her grandkids, Garren and Madison.

Survivors include her children, Donna Langley and her husband, Norman, of Westlake, Mark Benoit and his companion, of Vinton, Denny Benoit and his companion, Pam Mullens, of Iowa, Angela Babin of Edgerly; Garren Babin of Westlake; Madison Babin of Westlake; Tiffany Cameron of Jennings; sisters Dianne Prince and her husband, Ronny, of Sulphur and Kathy Prince and her husband, BB, of Sulphur; brothers Ronald Dugas and his wife, CG, of Lake Charles and Daniel Dugas of Tomball, Texas; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Curtis Powell, Jr.; mother Georgie Ancelet; father Valsin Dugas, Jr; brother-in-law Donald Ancelet; sister Gloria Ancelet; and great grand¬son Conlan Clavin.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Deacon Bud Wagner will officiate. Visitation was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. and continues from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, all in the funeral home
