After the passage of the Tariff of 1828 or also known as the Tariff of Abominations in the spring of 1828, the extended Abercrombie family was looking at the changes in their cost of living. In the early 1830's, together with several of Hannah's ABERCROMBIE siblings, family members started to move from Laurens County, South Carolina to Georgia. Members of the NASH, BABB, ABERCROMBIE and CAMPBELL family moved to Henry County (Hannah with brother Colville, Jr. and sisters Rebecca and Elizabeth). Her sister Mollie SIMS briefly moved to Henry County, but settled in Chambers County, Alabama. Her brother James came through Henry County, but settled in Campbell County (which became south Fulton County in 1931). Her sister Christie RIDGEWAY settled in Walton County. Her sister Ruth SIMS settled in Newton County, but the western part including Conyers became Rockdale County. And finally, her brothers Jonathan and Lindley stayed in the Carolinas.
They had 12 children (links have been submitted for all).
Hannah was only 54 years old when she went on to her reward. She was buried in the Babb Family Cemetery, marked only by field stones. Her husband John passed away 24 years later, after marrying a second time, and was buried beside her. Maybe one day descendants can place a real marker on the grave of the matriarch of our family.
