Travis Bastion was the youngest son of Nicholas Bastion Jr. and Charlotte Mae McKay Bastion. He was born in Bakersfield on Oct. 20, 1966. He attended school at Wells Elementary, Caliente, and Foothill High School. He graduated from Foothill High School in 1985 and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1985-1989. After his discharge from the military, Travis worked as a security guard for Transwest Security. He was a truck driver at Werner Enterprises for about five years and then returned to work for Transwest Security in Bakersfield.
During his military career, Travis was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. As a truck driver, he was able to visit almost all 50 states in the United States. He liked drums, target shooting, and paintball. He was a soft-spoken, gentle, caring man who was always available to lend a helping hand to those in need. He believed in the importance of family, and he had recently started out in his Christian walk.
Travis Bastion is survived by his father, Nicholas Bastion, Jr. of Sacramento; his mother, Charlotte Mae McKay Bastion of Tehachapi; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
