Norma graduated from high school in California, Missouri, in 1967. She married Jim Newkirk in the California United Methodist Church on October 24, 1968. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher, church secretary and pianist. She owned and operated antique stores for 15 years and worked at the Ambush Restaurant in Florence, Missouri. She belonged to Candlelighters for Children with Cancer and assisted her husband for a number of years with youth basketball and baseball. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family and was an avid Raiders fan. Survivors include a son, her mother, two brothers and three sisters. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Jamie Dawn and Faith Ann.
