Byrd Blackburn was born in Loves Valley, Indian Territory, OK. He helped his family on the farm and in the Post Office on the "12 Mile Prairie" He married Dovie Murray in 1910. They had children Oleta, Edith, Franklin, Marshall, Joe, Hazel, Inez, and Kenneth. They lived in the Nida community. He died following a stroke in 1955.
