Pat was a devoted wife and loving mother. She believed strongly in women's rights and that a woman should be able to decide if and when she got pregnant. She initially volunteered as the receptionist in Planned Parenthood's Schenectady, NY clinic. While subsequently serving as the President of the Phoenix, AZ PPNA Board of Directors, she was nearly arrested for distributing birth control information to married women. She later served on the Western Region Board and the National Board for PPNA completing over 40 years of volunteering for this cause.

Shortly after her 30 Aug 1935 marriage, Pat lost twin boys as the result of a second trimester miscarriage.

Her two children include: Kenneth Raymond Geiser, PhD (b. 1944) and Major George James Geiser, P.E. (b. 1947)
