Don was born January 21, 1953 in Chippewa County Wisconsin to Asa and Zena (Snow) Paine.
He attended the Chetek Area Schools and graduated from Cameron High School in 1972. He enjoyed his life in the US Army and made his home in his beloved Texas for over 30 years.
Don is survived by six brothers, Charles, Sr. (Rhonda) Paine of Eau Claire, Malcolm (Kay) Paine and Richard (Julie) Paine of Cameron, Merle Dean Paine of Milwaukee, James (Evie Strassburg) Paine of Hayward, Joseph (Patty Newberry) Paine of Oconomowoc; six sisters, Pat (Paul) Tomkowiak of Eau Claire, Rexetta (John) Halverson of Menomonie, Dorothy Cook of Almena, Susan (David) Bender of Rice Lake, Rita (Harvey) Lange of Toney, Ala., and Karen (Ed) Johnson of Marshall, WI numerous nieces and nephews; and many more friends that he called his extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 infant brother, Robert Paine; 2 sisters, Peggy Wirth and Sherry Lindsey. His grandparents; Lyle and Thora Paine & Clinton and Viola Snow.
A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date with burial June 4, 2012 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX with full military honors performed by the American Legion Post 573 of Harker Heights, TX.
