Obituary: The Miller County Sentinel, February 3, 1955

Benjamin Clifford Doolin, son of Marion Franklin and Mary Doolin, was born May 18, 1879 near Mexico, Mo., and departed this life Jan. 27, 1955 at 2:40 a.m. At his home in Waynesville, Mo., at the age of 75 Years, 8 months and 9 days.

On October 11, 1903, he was united in marriage to Emma Idella Robertson and to this union six children were born. They made their home in Iberia, and since 1912 they made their home in Waynesville, where he worked as a blacksmith by trade. In 1936 he lost his right arm as a result of Blood poisoning. For the past three years he had been in failing health.

Survivors are his wife, Della; two daughters, Bessie Harris of St. Louis and Clova Lea Bentley of Pharr, Texas; three sons, Willie A. Of Waynesville, Beauford of Lebanon and Sam R. Of Dayton, Ohio; one brother, John M. Of Waynesville; one half-brother, Ralph of Oklahoma City; three Half-sisters, Zola Phillips, Beulah Doolin and Birl Rohr all of Springfield, Mo.; 18 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, a number of nieces and Nephews which include Evelyn Logan and Guy Doolin of Waynesville, Mae Johnson of St. Louis, Jack Doolin of Kansas City and John Doolin, Jr., of The state of California.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, one son, one Brother, a sister, half brother, stepmother and a grandson. He was a member Of the Waynesville Methodist Church.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, Jan. 28 at the Waynesville Methodist Church, Rev. Andy Shephard officiating, assisted by Rev. John Bolen. Interment was in the Iberia Cemetery with funeral Arrangements under direction of the Hedges Funeral Home of Waynesville.
