Herbert Langston

Herbert Langston, 87, of Eupora died Jan. 21, 2007, at North Mississippi Medical Center-Eupora.

Mr. Langston was born Aug. 17, 1919, in Calhoun County. He was a retired self-employed carpenter and a member of New Hope Church. He was a World War II Army veteran, where he served as a cook, and was a Mason.

Survivors include three sisters, Opal Gordon and Margaret Winter of Vardaman, and Wanda Schumpert of Fulton; and several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Jimmy Gordon of Vardaman.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Dorroh Langston; his father, Gilbert L. Langston; his mother, Pearl Edna Hicks Langston; and a sister, Melba Winter.

Services were Jan. 22 at New Hope Baptist Church with burial in Old Bethany Cemetery. The Revs. Willy Weddle and Matthew White officiated.

Pallbearers were his nephews.
