"HOLMES - On Saturday, October 5, 1918, at 5:30 o'clock p. m., JAMES F. HOLMES, aged 88 years, a native of Ireland and a resident of New Orlenas past sixteen years.

The relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend teh funeral which will take place Monday, October 7, at 10 o'clock a. m., from the late residence of hte deceased, No. 2908 St. Charles avenue. Intermetn Metairie Cemetery."

JAMES F. HOLMES
aged 88 years, 2908 St. Charles avenue, junior member of the grocery form of Holmes Bros., died at 6 p. m. Saturday at Hotel Dieu. Mr. Holmes was a native of Roscommon, Ireland, and had been a resident of New Orleans for sixteen years. He was the son of John Holmes and Bridget Kelly, both of whom survive him, they reside in Ireland.
Mr. Holmes was in the retail grocery business at the corner of Camp and Julia streets, with his brother, Frank Holmes, who survives him with two other brothers, John T. and J. J. Holmes, all residents of New Orleans. He was taken ill a week ago with Spanish influenza, which developed into pnenumonia.

TO BE INTERRED IN TOME OF ELKS
James F. Holmes, who died Saturday at Hotel Dieu, will be buried in the Elks' tomb. Greenwood Cemetery, at 10 o'clock Monday morning, The funeral takes place at the late residence 2908 St. Charles avenue.
