A memorial service for Jacob Eugene Hershey (84) will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Scott Sundbye officiating.

Mr. Hershey passed away May 1, 2012 at Pecan Tree Health and Rehab Center. He was born November 18, 1927 in Muncie, Indiana to Frank and Della Victoria Hershey. Jacob married Margie Ann Prevo November 12, 1955 in Muncie. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Hershey had worked as a sheriff in Durango, Colorado for several years. He was an employee of Anaconda Aluminum and retired after many years of service. Jacob was also the owner and operator of Hershey Construction Company in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Jacob Hershey is survived by his wife, Margie Hershey of Gainesville; daughter, Cyndi Brown of Gainesville; son, Jim Hershey of Toms River, New Jersey and grandsons, Carter Brown and Jake Hershey. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.

Cremation services are under the direction of Meador-Clement-Keel Funeral Home.
